most of the meters which are on the market, I do have in my posession, so I can compare them.

I have placed some recommendations for meters.

Conventional LF meters do give you the max value of a field, within a certain frequency field, but you do not know what the main disturbing frequency is or frequencies are.
According to the new SBM2008, this has to be determined, so frequency-selectiv measuring is necessary for the SBM2008.
For the layman, this is not necessary.

Gigahertz is coming (When ??) with its NFA Series, where one can measure within certain frequency bands but it still does not point to the exact frequencies found.

With my Spectran NF 5020 I can even measure sound starting at 15 Hz and vibrations starting at 8 Hz !
Or the dirty power in the mains electricity.

The Gigahertz meters are *Point and read*.
The Spectrans need adjusting a number of parameters, but then you do have a lot more information.

It is just a matter of what you want to know, and how technical you are (and how much money you are willing to spend).

About measuring and measuring equipment they do not know much.
And what you may read is not correct.
